Department of Soil Conservation J&K was created in 1978 for Soil and Water Conservation in the State as nucleus body. Staff from Agriculture and Forest departments was transferred to new organization in order to formulate comprehensive project reports and monitor programmes connected with the subject. The department created the models about checking of landslides and erosion areas.
